SBR

The sequencing batch reactor (SBR) is a fill-and draw activated sludge system for wastewater treatment. In this system, wastewater is added to a single “batch” reactor, treated to remove undesirable components, and then discharged. Equalization, aeration, and clarification can all be achieved using a single batch reactor.

Advantages :

  • Produce high quality effluent due to a high degree in operational flexibility. Simple modification of the process via PLC.
  • Very stable process as compared to hydraulic shock loads and underload.
  • User friendly due to automatic operating mode.
  • No extra sedimentation tank. Settling is performed in the reactor tank.
  • Stable clarification performance.
  • Stable bacteria concentration in the reactor a sludge measurement by operator is not needed
  • Very low OPEX due to micro-bubble aeration and airlift system (no moving parts in the reactor).
  • Low sludge disposal cost, since only the sludge tank and not the complete plant must be emptied periodically.
  • Low sludge production
